Derek   are you a Canuck ?   so you are talking about 300 000 Km ?  ---but anyhow  IMHO
you got good information from ----Bob  in entire state and Doyt Echelberger .

I served my apprenticeship on occasional hard starting.-----Parking NOSE down (on slopes)
kept me going for a long time.   1982 1.6L NA  Rabbit. I do not have specifics about a 95
Jetta    but if it has a VE pump by BOSCH  ---check for leaks, ---Further install a pilot
light directly on Glowplug buss. I would NEVER be without one.  ----- after a while the
leak got out of hand ----I had to prime pump at every stop.
Leak was at cold start stub shaft seal. ----When stopped pull the cold start knob all the
way out ---that reduces the leak.

IMHO this is the place to get help.

PS  :  I am happy to see my Mentor  Doyt Echelberger is still kicking.  ---I just got news
from Sandy Cameron that an old friend of mine died. -----I started to take slow release
ASPIRINS and have no angina  ever since. ---NO NITRO for weeks.
