My Quantum was doing this last year but it was failing only one stop
in 100 then 20 or so. At one stage I found myself fiddling with the
relay board because I'd heard something clicking there on ignition
switching and so I felt it was where the power was reaching... and
rocking the relays whilst turning ignition seemed to work!
Duhhh.... Probably the demist relay clicking... (my GP relay is
under the hood)
Links to the fuseboard (if any) are just the brass strips behind.
Otherwise there is a direct link from ignition switch [contacts here
do get iffy] down to starter solenoid. There is a join for a sensor
to the glowplug relay. Could be a failure point?
Anyway I basically found that the spade connector at solenoid was
weak. A combination of corrosion and 'looseness' was the problem
squeezed connector and cleaned spade end and then pushed on/off a
few times to improve contact has, touch wood cured it.In fact I
cannot remember the last time it happened so it must be a cure :o)
