[Vwdiesel] '93 EV coolant leak

not so fast, Snake-in-the-Grass

there's a pretty decent coolant leak from somewhere in the back of the 
block
above the oil filter housing, below the head gasket (please please 
don't be *from* the head gasket)

not much at all on idle
but gets going at a fast drip w/engine under load/revving

strange thing is there are no obvious sources of coolant back there to 
leak (other than the head gasket, which possibility I am absolutely 
refusing to consider on the grounds that I just spent a week 
reassembling this thing and I'll be damned if I'm going to do it all 
over again)
(seriously, could it really be the head gasket ??)

I'm hoping there's something somewhere I forgot to tighten
but having a hard time tracking it down
