...again having done the changed email account thing and I wanted to let everyone know that if others in your family are bothered by the daily (or more often) VW Digest mailings, you can create a "rule" for Outlook Express to put all your VW Digest Emails into a special inbox.
This works for Outlook Express only.
First, create a new folder alongside your inbox. Set up your Email display such that the "folders" are shown as a "tree" on the left hand side of your window. Then "right click" the LOCAL FOLDERS which will create a blowdown box with options. Choose the option NEW FOLDER to create a new folder. You can name it anything you want but I have named mine "VW Diesel Digest."
Next, go to your Inbox or Deleted Items and click on one of the previous VW Digest Emails and bring it up into your viewing pane.
Next, on the top of the Outlook Express window see FILE, EDIT, VIEW, TOOLS, MESSAGE, HELP. Left click MESSAGE and it will blow down into a list of options. Left click CREATE RULE FROM MESSAGE.
This will start a NEW MAIL RULE window. See that it contains Box #1 "Select Conditions For Your Rule" and that it has the box "Where The >From Line Contains People" checked.
Box #2 "Select Actions For Your Rule" is blank and you should left click select "Move it to the specified folder." As you do this you will see it blow down into a complete list of your Outlook Express folders and you can choose your newly created VW Diesel Digest folder.
Box #3 should now contain a pocket description of your rule as you have created it and it should read something like:
Apply this rule after message arrives.
Where the From line contains VWdiesel-request at vwfans.com.
Move the message to the "VW Diesel Digest" folder.
As you leave all this by checking OK where necessary, Outlook Express will now separate VW Digest messages and put them into the special folder for your later reading enjoyment. This will leave your wife and kids to see your Email as it normally arrives.
Now you'll just have to remember to look in the Diesel Digest folder occasionally! .
Hope this is clearer than my diesel fuel filters.
Best "say no to gas hybrids" regards,
Joe
