Nope, there were mechanical TDs also, from 83-85, same as the NAs of the time.
There is an SAE article somewhere which I *think* mentions the use of a stronger
sodium injected alloy on the TD heads. This could be a myth, although I'm pretty
sure I read it somewhere.
