why GM chose to use the shittiest filter known to man on the fuel system.


  I dunno, the fuel filters/water seperators on the orchards 3, '86 6.9 Fords 

all managed to freeze up with just a few drops of water in them, leak or 
pinch off so much fuel that the truck would "freeze up" at about 35F.
  My 6.2 van filter managed to rust up on the pump side of it running 
a bunch of rust into the pump, after mostly sitting a year or so.  Sounds 
like they maybe kept the same filter setup???  I bought a Racor type 
filter for it off ebay but a friend managed to lock up the engine for me 
so I haven't bothered to install it.
