[Vwdiesel] 1000 mile torque

Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken but I remember the Bentley stating this torque can be done hot or cold.  It seems like it gives this information toward the back under torque specs.

The Bentley just states to torque the head bolts another ¼ turn at 1000
miles. Does it matter if it is done with a cold engine or one that is at
operating temp?  I'm at the 1000 mile mark now.
