  Your pump timing will fall right back in line since you haven't disturbed 
the relationship.  Problem is you have to pull that back pulley to see the 
slot to line up the cam, just like the 4 cylinders as I recall.
  If you pull the valve cover and check for clearance between the cam 
and lifters you can tell if you have a major bent valve.  I believe you have 
hydraulics so it's not quite as obvious as with solids but if the valve is 
bent, it usually prevents the lifter from returning all the way back to the 
cam.  Gap means bent valve.  You have to rotate the cam to a non-lifting 
position to check.  
  To lift all valves and rotate the crank, loosen all the bearing saddles 
until 
the cam is relaxed, releasing the pressure on all valves.  It's an overhead 
cam so it's right under the valve cover.  Not like an in block cam on a 
domestic V-8.  :-)
