[Vwdiesel] Funky Odo

After getting Roger's post I was inspired to attempt fixing of the original 
odo.  After taking it apart it was aparent that it was not the same setup as 
described on his link.  One worm gear was plastic, the remaing gears were all 
metal.  It was obvious after playing with it that one metal gear inside the 
whole number assembly would spin on the shaft.  I could not see any way to remove 
that particular gear without removing the gauge face, and speedo needle.  Big 
can of worms there IMO.  Soooo, long story long, can a jetta speedo replace 
the quantum's?  It has the same plastic clip on the end of the speedo cable, and 
tire size is the same, so I can't see any reason why not.
