[Vwdiesel] Limping FROM home, bad GP's,now no Temp guage !

  If gauge and relay aren't working then first check grounds.  I don't
 recall them being on any same circuit other than the body ground.
Is the fuel gauge still correct. Many times when one is off the other 
will be too but one is usually much more noticeable than the other, 
until you either run out of fuel or overheat!  This is caused by a 
failed voltage stabilizer (regulator).  Would still be coincidental to 
the GP's.  Check power on the relay socket.
  Yup, there are two temp sensors.  One for the glow plug light 
timer and one for the gauge.  The sensor in the reservoir is a 
coolant level sensor.  Makes the light blink if it's low.  
  Rad fan is on its own circuit so it it's not working do as Bob
said, jumper the wires to the thermoswitch and see if it works.  
If it actually works but doesn't ever come on by itself, either your 
thermostat is low enough to never let the rad heat up enough (unlikely) 
or the thermoswitch is bad.
