Subject: Ring Break-In and Oil Consumption ---(Bon-Ami myth)
After 50 years of growth, Bon Ami sales began to decline. Several changes of ownership and management occurred and the product almost disappeared from the market by the late 1960's.
The Faultless Starch Company's major acquisition came in 1971 with the purchase of the Bon Ami Company. The Bon Ami products included the familiar original formula Cleaning Cake, the original formula Bon Ami Cleaning Powder and Bon Ami Deluxe Polishing Cleanser, which was an updated formula of the original, but contained detergent and bleach.
To emphasize the return of Bon Ami to the market, the name of the organization was changed to Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company in 1974.

I hagar will now use my bon ami in the bathroom. After reading Quarts and so on
not based on startch. I am afraid it may bind the rings. They nearly fooled me
by saying NEVER scratches and STARCH. I just tested som on the red hot stove.
Aint NO starch in the bon ami I got.
Hagar.
