[Vwdiesel] Diesel octane or why can you run a diesel engine lean?

Loren (and Roger) both great, informative
explanations, thanks!

Loren, you addressed something I'd been wondering ever
since I turned the fueling down a little "for more
econonmy."

I'm a bit of a throttle-masher, so it probably made
sense for me, but maybe if I can change my ways, I'll
turn it up just a bit so I can have some power when I
need it.

Thanks,

David
