[Vwdiesel] Diesel octane or why can you run a diesel engine lean?

The big point tha Hagar is making but just doesn't seem to click in my
pointy head,Turning the fuel down will simply make
the engine run slower.
Loren

Hagar zes relax Loren ----soon it will come to you --- it will click.

Loren this is an issue where the FLYBOYS ----got the experience. They have full
control of mixture all the time. They can look at exhaust at night and see what
the mixture control does to the flames. .Flames can not be seen in daylight----take my
word they are there.

Get Gavrik Peterson to explain to you how the metering sleeve works,. It is NOT simply slowing the
motor down ---it is more complicated because of the Governor.

Lets start at the beginning. : What is MIXTURE ? it is an expression of
a ratio of fuel and air in pounds.---That fancy word ? with no speller? forget it.

100----------------------Lean-----------------------------Zero ------------------------Rich.------------------------100-.

Zero ? that is the point where full combustion takes place No excess Air and
NO excess fuel. ----------stoichiometric.? I know what it means but
can't spell it.

Loren if you had read my threads carefully ---you wold understand that
Lean comes in many shades. ---I chose SUPERLEAN for good reasons.

You say we cant't run a diesel in lean ? ---I STILL contend you can't run a diesel "lean."(Loren)
would you like to argue with performance ? I say you can run it way leaner than
the way it comes from VW. With a sacrifice in POWER performance. BUT still a nice
performance.
The good news about "Superlean" a la Hagar ? ---No need for spraynozzles on pistons No
need for a LDA---- BUT you will need the Turbo. Unknown to me at the time was the fact that VW
to sell VW in California --did exactly what I am doing. Except I did not install the Cat.
I did not do it for ECO reasons ---only for experimenting.
Read up on the VW ECO diesel.

the "Small guy" is interested in mileage and reliability ----and everything I promoted
does just that. Lowering cylinder pressure ? does not increase reliability ?

After doing this for two years on Bunny Bondo a 1984 1.6 L Turbo Rabbit does it work ?
it blew my socks off----the most incredible indicator ? the Blotter testing.of the lube oil.

Soot loading per miles dropped someting incredible. .Remember I have a diesel
here (Lister) --lube oil never gets black period. Black is soot.

More later . ----this computer crashes like on a time table. and wipes the threads clean..

Hagar.
