  True it's not like a distributor BUT if there's enough heat at the point of 

commencement of injection, the ignition point WILL commence at the 
time of injection.  As I understand it, other than the delay's inherent in 
the system, ignition WILL take place at injection.  There should be quie 
a range where there's enough heat for injection.  Otherwise the compresion 
is likely VERY marginal.
