[Vwdiesel] Diesel octane or why can you run a diesel engine

Bob,

What did you do on the pump your repaired? I'm hoping to pickup a spare pump 
along with other parts next week, so I may have something to practice on (although 
it's a low mileage pump from an '82 Vanagon, so might be too nice to mess with). My 
TD pump ran ok, but since I'm rebuilding the engine from ground up, I'd like to find 
out about what I can do to the pump, without spending a ton of $$.
