Mike, you would be shocked at how well you can roll on a coat of tremclad.
It spreads out until all roller marks, all brush marks are gone.  I mean
gone.  I brush the stuff on the racecar rollcage, and interior sheetmetal...
it flows out smooth as can be.  You want a cheapie paint job, that would be
it. No comparison to the spraybomb jobs you can do.  Just be sure to prep
properly for adhesion. (scotchbrite, then proper wash using scotchbrite and
soap.

Anyone ever painted a car with something OTHER than "actual" car paint?
Looking at prices for gallon cans of primer, reducer, then paint, it's gotta
be well over $200 after tax.
I just want to sand car down, fix some rust (bondo) and get 1 year...maybe
2, out of a very low end paint job, but as I'm on a super low budget, I just
really want the car to be all one color.  I have a compressor and spray gun.
It's a variety of colors now, with patches here and there, etc.

Rustoleum? House paint? Something else?

I have to keep in the back of my mind this is JUST a commuter car, point A
to B, el-cheapo, 86 Golf with 407K on the clock.  Just want it to be all one
color.

Ideas?
