[Vwdiesel] Cheap paint for an old car?

My 81 caddy is a rattle can special. All rustoleum spay paint. If you do
it right, you can get a really smooth finish but it takes practice.. The
black strip on the bottom of the truck is a "hammered finish" version of
rustoleum, probably equivalent to the "hammerite" all these Brits and
European diesel heads keep talking about. ;^) Hayden

Sadly, yes, I am one of those annoying people who have ruined (in some
people's eyes...) a number of cars and vans in my time with "paint jobs"....
Just use whatever you can find... enamels... "hammerite" is excellent...
Red lead primer was one of my favourites.... What about underseal all
over...?

But why paint it "just one colour" when there are so many to choose from...
come on this might be you one opportunity to have some real fun while
painting a car....
(in my experience, getting a somewhere near professional looking finish on a
car is no fun at all... been there, done that, not doing it again...
ever..)
