Some of the most reasonable paints here in the US are paints for
industrial/agriculture related products. Of course that limits you on
the colo(u)rs. Red, blue, green, yellow, orange = Massey
Ferguson/International Harvester, Ford/New Holland, Green - let me see,
oh yea, John Deere, Cub Cadet/all Construction related lines, and
Kubota.

Sadly, yes, I am one of those annoying people who have ruined (in some
people's eyes...) a number of cars and vans in my time with "paint
jobs"....
Just use whatever you can find... enamels... "hammerite" is
excellent...
Red lead primer was one of my favourites.... What about underseal all
over...?

But why paint it "just one colour" when there are so many to choose
from...
come on this might be you one opportunity to have some real fun while
painting a car....
(in my experience, getting a somewhere near professional looking finish
on a car is no fun at all... been there, done that, not doing it
again...
ever..)
