 A bad wire would cause the engnie to cut out rather than bog and t 
may or may not go back to idle.  Putting the engine in gear, brake on, 
and a little throttle and letting the clutch (to torque over the engnie) 
should duplicate the situation without as much fuel loading.
  Of course check for air, fuel wetted hoses, pinched line, blocked 
return or supply line...  Sounds like fuel starvation.
