This is an American room so  Mark Shepherd and all bear with me .

I arrived at Grand Central N Y  in the fall of 1953  and had to report for classes in
San Antonio that fall.
Diesel or Steam ?  ---- wow make mine steam ---please LORD.    And steam it was
and pullman and black porters. (they were good at the job).

That the journey would end with me driving diesels ?  .----never never crossed my mind.

So ? what did I learn  ?----my American friends go small Diesel Electric ---- and make
bicycle lanes everywhere. ----if need be do away with sidewalks. Who walks these days
that can not walk on a cycle path ?. ----Just a matter of education ---or should I say RE education.

In Denmark 1940 to 1945   ----sharing the roads ? NO PROBLEMO.   Horses Camels or Goats ?
Rollerscates ----  ANYTHING that did the job. -----It was downright exiting a matter of NATIONAL
pride to carry on.   Remember Victory Gardens ? ----we did not eat tulips---- London England was the
leader in that solution.
I rigged my cart with a Viking style sail and went like stink on the main higway on windy days.
(like newfieland denmark has lots of wind)    I remember going so fast that sparks came off wheels.
That was fall of 1945.
Hell here on Highway 101 ---the cycle lane is used by lots of different people.  Electric 
wheelchairs and dogs and what not ---NO problems so far.
Blows my mind how far Electric wheelchairs can travel these days.
Some people complain about traffic noise ?   ---NOT me.   I love it when those
Harleys go crudding by --  must be Spring.  It is like Music in my ears.

Well too much old time stuff ---back to Rabbits . (and reality)
