I think he meant that the oil was being diluted by the
diesel, and rendered ineffective more quickly than
normal. Because you would be chaning your oil more
often, you are wasting the money spend on synthetic
oil.
Now, I use synthetic oil because of it's ability to
better withstand stuff floating in it, though I don't
know for sure if this applies to fuel as well as soot.
I don't think you'd have a problem with the engine
burning either oil, although there are a lot of heavy
metals and things like that present in engine oil, so
it could be an environmental/pollution risk. I don't
know if that stuff could be filtered out.
OTOH, I've heard that many times, the "recycled" oil
you turn into the FLAPS ends up just being burned as
fuel, so maybe it doesn't make a difference.
