[Vwdiesel] No Start update

I'm more interested in if they are tight or if a feeler gauge will fit. I'm
betting they are tight, as in clearance was set improperly by the head shop.
(pun intended) This is done by stem length reduction to compensate for the
valve seat being ground closer to the cam. If you get too close, the lifter
can't get short enough to compensate and valves can't close. Raise the cam
a few turns on the bearing caps and see if things change...
Oh, heck I see Loren answered this already...
Yeah, a leak from a leakdown tester across all cylinders means you laid your
pencil down somewhere before installing the headgasket.... or the valves are
all open.
Gee Nick, that sucks. Head comes off. Joy.
Maybe take the head shop your copy of the Bently manual when they go over
this again...and again...
This is already the second time round for this head, no? or am I thinking of
someone else...

Being the hydraulic head, how do you check valve clearances? What is the
spec? My experience is that any that are being pressed on with the engine
off
(valve pushed open) bleed back.
