That is my understanding, yes. But I couldn't find anyone to confirm use of the metal 
h/g on the 1.6TD, most I talked to were using the 1.9 which of course has them to 
start with. I was worried about the extra diameter, but that is probably not a concern, 
since the 1.6 fiber h/g I used seemed to have plenty of extra diameter as well.
I guess they need to allow for the largest overbore. One thing to watch for is the AHU 
early TDI gasket is not quite the same thickness as the AAZ one for notch 1&2. They 
are the same thickness for #3. I don't know what else is different - the AAZ (cdn TD) 
is the one to get I think. I've heard about studs for years, but never been prepared to 
spend the money. My last TD head gasket job out lasted the engine, about 8 years 
and 200k, still no leaks when I pulled it apart. This was stock of course...
