Ben,

Welcome to the list and I'm sure I speak for us all in thanking you for the
contribution. I suppose the engine would have to come with the computer to
be of any use. I wonder how hard it would be to make a standalone wiring
harness.

That would be a sweet engine to drop into something.

I'm very glad the woman wasn't seriously hurt. Also glad that the car
rolled precisely 1.5 times and not pi times or square root of three times.
Such an occurance may have had unpredictable and far reaching consequences.
;)

Rob

All,
This is my first post, and I don't own a VW diesel (yet, with gas
prices...), but admire them just the same. I am an engineer at Cummins and
respect the thought and ingenuity that went into these little engines.
Anyway, the reason for the post is the fact that one of my friends just
totalled (rolled 1.5 times) a 2002 Jetta TDI with 61,500 miles. She plans
on buying the car back because she wants the black interior to replace the
tan interior of the Jetta she has recently purchased. Not sure of the
price.
If there is any interest from the list, let me know, otherwise it will
probably end up on ebay or the auto trader. It is located in Western New
York. Tranny would probably go too if you wanted it. I am not a dealer and
am not interested in parting it out. I was just hoping I could find this
engine a new home. I know that most of you guys are into the IDI mechanical
engines, but, just in case....
