The first rear brake job I did was on a '74 vw bus. I pried and hammered
and pried some more. I finally snapped the two shoe retaining clips and got the
shoes to fold outward. I had one severe heck of a time getting the shoes in
place with the e-brake cable attached properly. When I finally got it all
back together I went for a test drive. The first thing I did when I got in the
van was start the engine and RELEASE THE E-BRAKE! One heck of a blonde moment.
