[Vwdiesel] Transmission fluid draining

I cannot 100% verify anything, but I do know that I
had TWO Beetle trannys die (discentigrate is a better
term) in less than two weeks after draining and
filling with GL-5.

A very knowledgeable VW guy advised me that it was the
GL-5 eating the yellow metals in the trannys.

I can tell you that none of my VW's trannys will ever
see GL-5.
