[Vwdiesel] Fuel 101 --- ( the MICROBES ---nasty little

Actually Loren 100ppm is 100 x10^-6 which is 1/100 of1%! UK gall is 4540cc
so that is approx 6cc of water per tank load 'possibly' suspended in the
fuel if you buy at 30 deg c. I think you could safely say that having the
diesel in your tank at 10 deg C could deposit about half of this. so say
3cc per tank. Of course this can add up over time but I surmise that in a
'garaged' vehicle going out in the cold morning the water will drop out of
the fuel as it passes along the fuel line and accumulate in the fuel
filter.
Two points stick in my 'shell':

1) Buy cold diesel (i) because it has more water extracted (or less in it
anyhow)
[Unless Exxon station fuel is sucked up from the bottom of the tank]
(ii) get more 'denser ' fuel for your money.
2)Run it at a warmer temp than you bought it at.(Was it Peugeot/Citroen
that use coolant heated fuel filters? Good for Kanola too...
