Tim, I think in reading all the post this could be the
old "air in the lines, pump is not priming" thing.
You have done your home work and I will soon be in
your shoes, I have purchased my own dial indicator and
will be using it for the first time in a few weeks.
Any who, I think the next thing to do it push all the
air out of the lines. Take the fuel feed line to the
pump, pull it and put in coffee can. Then put a rag
around compressed air blower and stick it in the gas
tank fill with about 10psi. Push fuel into can until
you are sure no air, then put back on pump. You can
do the same with the return line from pump to tank but
not a must do.
Then, one by one, when cranking, crack each injector
fuel line at the connection to the injector and look
for air bubbles to leave, if any. Do all six.
That will rule out air and a pump that will not prime.
Just my 2 pennies, let us know and good luck.
