In what parameters? Lubricity, no. Additives, perhaps.
Additives are packaged, and you can't pick and choose. For engine
break-in, you may wish only some additives. (The safest route is to
select none.) For high torque applications, a different set. For
high sulfer fuel, a different set. For high speed diesel, a different
set. So like many other operational and design situations, we are
faced with trades.
If you're going to compare oils, you must define the parameters
which make the oil "best."
One might try a Google search, using multiviscosity vs. straight weight
oil, and take a look at the first two items. One an EAA writeup, the
second from a tribology rag.
