The price of he Rotella  T is great but it isn't a true PAO synthetic but a
hydro cracked carbon super refined to the point that it is allowed to be
called a synthetic called a Group III. It still has paraffin wax in it where
a true synthetic does not. Running Mobil 1 for 4k mile interval changes is
way safe IMHO. I personally feel that if you're going to run a synthetic
then get the real deal and purchase PAO stock oil, otherwise keep with
regular oil and 3k change intervals and all is well. Mobil 1, Redline, Royal
Purple and AMSOIL are the only PAO synthetics that I'm aware of with a
diesel rated oil.

FWIW, Walmart also sells Rotella T 5W40 Synthetic for $13.72/gal.  To 
me that's a better deal than gas rated Mobil 1.
