An interesting idea....
I have 3 A2 jettas on the property, an 87 jetta diesel, an 87 carat
(converted to diesel), and a 91 basic no frills diesel,  I will get the
ferder lip to wheel center dimension and post here. I know the springs in
the 87 carat are different than the ones in the basic 87 jetta. They are
thicker on the carat.

I think the springs (front) may be different for A/C equipped cars than basics.

We may end up with more variety than 020 transmissions!
