Probably a tire is cupped. Happens a lot with low profile tires.
If you're sure bearing is good, there's not much else it can be.
Never heard a CV joint whine, though there is a first time for everything.

OK, I'm stumped.

GTI, right front end whine. Car tracks OK. Load the right end, and the
whine is there. Load the left, and the whine goes away. Told the owner,
I think it'd the bearing. Brakes, and acceleration had no effect.

Bearing replaced, whine is back. Looked at wheel, and found that there
was allot of slop in the bearing. Bad bearing.

Bad bearing is replaced, new one is tight. Whine still present. Accelerate,
brake, no change. Turn left, it becomes a little more pronounced. Turn
right, unloading the right side, and it goes away. No pulling, no looseness.
CV joints seem free and full range of motion. Hard turns cause no clicking.

Obviously, I'm inclined to suggest CV joints. Any thoughts?

Val
