[Vwdiesel] *help! '93 EV diesel tranny problems*

OK, what does it mean when I can't get out of reverse ??
past couple weeks tranny has been moderately difficult to get in and 
out of gears when I'm going slow or at a stop
shifts fine once I'm going
put it in reverse a minute ago, backed up, now I can't get it out
had to back back up the driveway to come in here and write this email
I'm gonna look pretty funny driving backwards everywhere
