[Vwdiesel] Injection pump timing

I know you can fudge around a
little on the pump advance (hillbilly tuning) but just on general principles I
think it's wiser to stay with the stock timing unless you know for a FACT that
you will only be operating it under very light loads.  You don't want to take
the chance of doing damage.  Not worth it IMHO.  Doug Ferguson

NO timing using  Bentley --NO WAY NO HOW--will work on an OLD Rabbit if you go by  Bentley
specs.

are wrong --"Hillbilly Tuning"  is ----NOT simply a matter of advancing the
pump --sometimes it means retarding the pump ----

A proper procedure under "Hillbilly Tuning" will NEVER damage any pump or
engine.---PERIOD.

Why ? it starts off from ---all marks aligned --and that is RETARDED.--- ANY LOAD will
do---------------------------a diesel will only do what the amount of fuel injected
dictates.---There is NO way of running a Diesel too lean.---NO matter what you
do.----Trust ME --but verify----.

And "Hillbilly"  Tuning starts with "Fueling"  screw right out?  --you bet your butt.

Fueling screw is simply a mechanical stop  --preventing Governor from moving control
collar to cover drain holes on high pressure piston----cover holes ? --more
fuel.------jepper..

very scientific --very  time consuming ---very ---satisfying ---procedure for
experimentors.
