Hi all
Haven't had much to say since my last question, I think Hagar did me a favor, after being told to read the archives and learn the way of hillbilly tuning, I thought about it for a little while, got pissed I didn't get a straight answer to my question and so I meditated on it, well after some thought, I realized Hagar is 100% correct, there is a lot of talent here, too much talent to go to waste. So I started to read the archives from the begining (screw google), first I started looking at just topics relating to fuel injection but quickly I got side tracked on other topics, so you won't see or hear from me for a while, because I'm am going to learn the way of Hillbilly tuning by reading the entire archive.
In a sort of bazzar way theres a Jedi feeling in this, perhaps what Hagar is saying to all that ask for a quick fix in Hillbilly tunig is "use the force luke".
Its been many years since I used the force to tune my car, I owned a 71 Triumph TR-6 it defied a timing light and syncronizing carburators was impossible even with the correct tool, the factory manual went through the entire procedure then suggested listening to each carburator and tune them in by ear. The distributor had a thumbscrew on it just so you could tweak your timing a few degrees after topping up your tank. After finding a few faithful Truimph owners and a mechanic that had a clue, I learned how to make my 6 sing. Sometimes when something broke, I'd just leave broke because if I fixed right away, some thing else would just break the next day. People make fun of Lucas electricals, but the truth of the matter was the whole car acted like it was possesed. Once I got the right mind set, driving that car was as good as sex, well maybe better on the right road. My 6 has long since gone, replaced with four children and a second wife, I miss my TR-6, but downhill my Jetta is a lot of fun in the turns
Anyway, thank you Hagar for your advice, I will seek goodness and light, and when I return, I am quite sure I will have a lot of questions.
Thanks Steve
