  I'd forward an exploded pic of a KKK and Garrett side by side with all the 
components laid out from when I did two of mine but that pic is on a HD 
that is currently non responsive.  :-(
  Put the nut on and tap the shaft out.  Controlled "drops" onto a block 
of wood should do it.  There is probably carbon on the shaft as well as 
built up to the outside of the exhaust side piston ring.  I believe there 
are two rings on the intake side.  If it's worn into the aluminum housing 
then you need the "big kit" or major rebuild kit at about double the price.  
It has a new backing plate for the intake side.  Hairline cracks radiating 
from the center hole are something to look CAREFULLY for.  I was 
shown the one on one of mine and still wouldn't have suspected it!
