Well, I explained to my wife the risk of a runaway diesel, and now she's
scared. I was numb enough to explain to her that it probably isn't any more
likely than I high pressure fuel injection hose coming off a gasoline engine and
the whole thing bursting into flames. Now she's scared to drive anything. I
would also like to reduce the threat of engine damage from the instinctual
action of pushing in on the clutch. Since I am bound and determined to go all
diesel before long I would like to determine the possible causes of runaway and
see which ones can be eliminated. I imagine that a solenoid vavle could be
added to the crank vent that would open whenever there is current to the stop
solenoid for the diesel. What other means does the engine have of runaway?
