[Vwdiesel] shipping transmission

I had an auto transmission sent TO me that was
packaged in a wooden crate made out of some 2x4s and
plywood.

I would guess that a manual trans would be easier, you
might be able to get away with a less sturdy
container/box than the "crate" that was made to hold
my trans, as a manual weights about 75 lbs and is much
lighter than an auto.

It was shipped by DHL, which was much much cheaper
than any other option.  With any shipper, make sure
that the fluid is drained, and I'd consider wrapping
it in plastic just in case.
