  I don't recall any gears that are pressed.  The rear bearing is somewhat 
(on a Rabbit type/transverse transmission) but the shaft pulls out when 
you seperate the case.  The only other thing I remember pressing off was 
the pinion bearing on the inner end of the shaft.  Of course a longitudnal 
tranny would be somewhat different but I think most of the gears are splined 
slip fit with snap rings rather than pressed.  :-)
