[Vwdiesel] Cracked Head JB Weld?

Looking over a friend's 92 Golf (84 1.6NA rabbit engine) I noticed some
JB Weld under the little hoist (or whatever) nub just below the valve
cover on the front of the head next to the timing belt cover.

I'm told the crack is only to the oil passages and the head gasket seems
fine and there's no oil in the coolant reservoir.

Will this repair hold for a while or should we line up a new head?
