THere should be just barely perceptible play with the tire on when you 
rock the wheel in and out.


  Then recheck it for rock/wobble in a week, a month or so and 6 months!  
Just put your foot on the top/sidewall of the tire and rock it that way.  If you 
hear a clunking, tighten the nut a bit more.  I've had a few that kept 
"wearing in" or such.  Simple and quick to check and makes a huge difference in 
handling!
