[Vwdiesel] "Diesel Powered Speaker"

What happened was that the speaker tore itself apart
before the car was busted. Afterwards, they
discovered that the sunroof was pushed up and off its
tracks, according to them no small feat in and of
itself.
As soon as the sunroof was pushed out, it released all
the air pressure from the speaker and there was no
destruction. In the high speed camera shots, you
could see the sunroof panel flopping up and down to
the "beats".
They got about 168 dBs, though it was at a very very
low frequency (I forget the exact number) low enough
that the car stereo expert was impressed because it is
very difficult to achieve such a high dB at such a low
frequency.
They declared the myth busted, though before the car
was built, one of the others went to a car audio show
and was told that occasionally they have a windshield
break.
On another note, my dad did once see a trunk get
popped open by booming bass.
