That being said, I treat all chemicals carefully (partially because I
already get chemical exposure in my work) and I would recommend using
nitrile gloves which are more impermeable than latex and don't play with
methanol in an enclosed place. I'm to the point where I wear nitrile
when working on cars anyways. At the very least, it keeps my hands
cleaner and it's tough enough to help protect from some of the scrapes
and cuts.
The MSDSs I reviewed quicker than I really should have don't talk about
carcinogenicity. Mostly, it's the nervous system damage in the acute
and chronic levels. And that's worth protecting if you want to stay
amongst the smarter and better looking :)
