Hello all, just picked up my replacement pump this morning and have it
installed. Thanks all for the help. It took longer to recieve than I
thought it would but now it's in and don't need to buy gas for now. I
borrowed a new Jeep and got better milage that the pick up but still
cost me 95 bucks for gas this week as opposed to 35 diesel.
One thing is my engine seems to be louder. The typical klatter seems to
be higher pitched and louder. Take off power is different as with my
old pump I could just slowly let the clutch out and go, this I need to
throttle it up some. As well as idle driving noise seems louder but
power seems ok. No bad smoking and starts fine. I did the pump without
removing the timing belt I did have to loosen the cam pully to get the
pump pully on. I locked the cam and pump on the correct timing marks
and of course had the motor on TDC. I timed the pump by ear.
I'll spend sometime tomorrow and recheck the engine timing and fiddle
with the pump timing as well. Also this pump is older than my old one
it has just the throttle and no switches, looks a little older design.
Maybe from a 1.5?
Any direction that might help is appreciated as always, you all were a
big help in the original diagnostics and am learning.
Terry
