According to the Old Cars Value Guide, 8/05 edition a 1980 Dasher is worth, based on the following conditions: $6,400#1, $4,500#2, $2,880#3, $1,300#4. I have later editions but can not readily find them. They do not list an '81 wagon but show an '81 sedan, #2 condition to be worth $3650 but an '80 sedan, #2 condition to be worth $4,400 or $750 more. There is no addition or deductions for gas or diesel or what accessories it has such as airconditioning. A #3 car is a very clean car with a few dents or scrapes. A #2 car looks like it rolled off the showroom floor or a very clean one or two year old car. A #1 car is restored to very high standards, better than new & is trailered to shows like cars seen at Pebble Beach. My guess from your description is it is a #3 to high #3 car. These price guides are not a "bible" & in my opinion some cars are priced unrealisticly high & others too low. My own guess would be to ask $3,000 & be willing to take $2,000 & $500 less if it doesn't have airconditioning. I have a an '81 Dasher diesel wagon with A/C which I consider to be a #4 car & wouldn't sell it for their $1,300 valuation.
