So what is the effect of stearic acid on an injection pump and injectors?
Paraffin candles have stark acid added to raise the melting point, so the
flame burns better, the wax melts slower and the melted wax pool doesn't
over flow. That's what makes drippless candles "dripless".
I can see adding straight pure paraffin wax in SUMMER ONLY. Fatty acids
however, may F up the injector tips prematurely, it would be like burning
soap.

I agree with James --stick to ParoWax for now.---too hard to tell one type of candle from
another.
ATMU there are 3 types of candles on the market ---Pure Paraffin wax , Stearin and
Bees Wax.
Paraffin comes from crude oil ----Stearin comes from a plant oil ----the tallow type I
am not too sure of.
My intention was to crack a JOKE ----simpler fix is adding of Canola or Peanut or Castor
oil. I have only tested Canola so far ---and it is GREAT.
Rapeseed Oil is one good lubricant --with a high Cetane number --about 50.----funny thing
was the making of fuel for the McCoy ----Castor oil and Ether --mix.----works for a McCoy
? it works for a Rabbit.

Svend say NO FACT of any kind is USELESS --IMHO. I am still gleaning information
from the Archives---- and James was on my MUST read list ---for good reasons.
Information is where you find it ? Ja ?-----and James is a goldmine--IMHO.----good thing
you said "seemingly".----. Lets not loose sight of the FACT that this was about longevity
of IP and Injectors --without gumming up compression rings. --------------yes LUBRICATION
under fire.
During my experimentation ---I found that adding Paraffin Wax down to 20 below was
OK ----BUT I carried Kerosene just in case.----yes I used it once. 3 things are
important in fuel ---NIL ash --High cetane number and GOOD lubrication.----acidity is
not desirable ----I tested hundreds of samples for
Acid builds up in Lube oil and Fuel oil as part of the breakdown----Hope that Doyt
Echelberger will describe the process. ( I had the tests done in a Laboratory )----very
expensive process ---better to dump the Oil from a Rabbit. ---of the top of my mind --KOH
testing ? ---Nil ash does not mean ZERO ash --it means that it is below the scale
used.----For the sump ? only Aviation oil is listed as NIL ash.
ALL diesel lubes are rated according to Sulfated ash content ----no NIL ash to be
found.
And no two cycle oils are ash free. ---ATMU.
In the trade the number is called a Neutralization number. or if you like Acid
Number.-----How did the number come about ? ---neutralize the oil and weigh the
potassium Hydroxide --used. , usually it is in Milligrams.
Moral ? ---stay with pure paraffin wax--it is cheap and it works. --and it will not
harm the rubber in the IP ---
Svend .
PS : sure wished I had paid more attention to CHEMISTRY---- way back in school.
