[Vwdiesel] Injection Pump testing ---( the fuel flow test )

Why do we do this test ? --- we do this test to verify internal IP pressure ---and it
is simpler than hooking up a pressure gauge. (yes I use a gauge as well) ---so I know what
I am talking about. (not hearsay).

If the pressure does not work and vary according to BOSCH specs ---your Rabbit will NOT
perform like Bunny Bondo.---or a brand new Rabbit.

At 2000 Rpm pressure should be 75.4 PSI. --- (minimum 66.7 ) if less the injection
point will not be correct.

The timing piston return-spring looks linear to me ---and the Fuel regulator valve coil
spring looks linear to me. ---(I have them right here by the Keyboard.) . Springs do
break at times or get tired. Simple to inspect springs. . Fuel regulator valve unscrews
like a spark-plug. --It is located on top of IP it has two flats .
Be careful Valve housing "barrel" is soft steel. do not use Pipe wrenches or
Vicegrips. RH thread.

Warning : around the IP cleanliness is GODLINESS.

Svend.

PS : Pressures may vary a lot and still be ok. --ALL my regulator Valves are # 37. I
am in the process of taking a VE 6 pump apart.

The SAGO mine was one BLACK day in my life.
