yes.  Just because it works, doesn't mean it is correct.
You can't press a soft bushing into an interference fit hole without
altering the dimension of the bore of the bushing.
The intermediate shaft has very little load, which would explain why it
works to an extent.

than 5) that have used bearings that were within tolerance once fitted
