Thing is, we had a very friendly, close-knit group here before someone came
in and kicked over the anthill. The point isn't that it is simple to hit
delete, I can do that with UK-Mark, for example, because he rubs me the
wrong way so badly. The point is that the selfish acts of one have
threatened the group as a whole. I myself have received P-mails from list
members looking for another list to join because they are sick of hitting
the delete button. One person causing multiple valued members to be driven
off is a cardinal sin for a list like this.
I'd be willing to compromise and let the Dane stay only if all of his posts
were first moderated by a member that knows what the core purpose of this
list is, before they were posted. Even that is far more than what should
have to be put up with - it will mean that someone is going to have to spend
their own valuable time babysitting someone else. It's a waste of that
person's time.
As it has been mentioned before, those of us that were here before him were
perfectly happy with things as they were. If the Dane wants to start his own
mailing list, there is nothing stopping him from doing just that.
Yahoogroups allows people to set up their own mailing lists. Shall I hunt
down links so that they can be spoon-fed to him? Then, he can do whatever it
is he wants and the people that want to listen to his ramblings can do so to
their heart's content. Everyone wins!
I refuse to be driven away from a group that I have been a member of for so
long and which I have learned so much from by the actions of one attention
whore and his pack of boot-licking sycophants, to put it rather bluntly and
in language that even Hagarsvend can understand.
DAN, ARE YOU LISTENING?
