I too, noticed at about 200,000 km the power was dropping off. Test revealed
that the pattern was poor, dribbly and should not be present in a direct
injection engine. Changed to power plus nozzles from kerma. veeeery nice.
The power increase was noticeable, well, very noticeable. Economy didn't
change as long as the fun factor wasn't exercised.
Kerma (Charlie Migliore) is a very good man to deal with.
Add the tuning box from Hayden, and it's a frickin rocket, you'll be
upgrading the clutch in no time :-)

Subject: [Vwdiesel] TDI injector life
Anyone have data points on TDI injector life? I was looking down at the
odo on the 2000 (ALH) today and it was at 166K miles. It's been running
a little mediocre I think, too. There's usually a little Diesel smell
at idle and a bit of a popping and this occasional lump in the idle. I
checked the timing and there's no engine codes outside of that stupid
EGR range exceeded thing I can't get rid of (I really need to just kill
the EGR). I'm starting to think that it may be worth it go get the
injectors looked at. How long has the community's injectors lasted?
